Phil was born and raised in the Boston, Mass. area. A product of the Bobby Orr generation there, and he has continued to be a New England Sports "Homer."
He started on the ice in 1970, and has loved every one of those 48 years. He even reffed games, for extra walk around money, at Umass during the 80's. Started coaching Cincinnati Youth Hockey in 2000, various House Developmental and Travel teams. Last 8 years with MHS as an assistant. I always focused on teaching the game to make if fun with friends. Teamwork requires commitment and support, as well as knowledge and skillls of the game.
My son Gabe went thru the program and he still loves the game. We watch and talk about our Boston Bruins, he always makes it back for MHS alumni games. I stay involved with my Men's League friends a couple games per week all year round, so I practice what I preach, a love and passion for the game to share and play forever.
That motivates me.
